It's not the only piece of surveillance software around, but it is one of the best. Overall Opinion: Blue Iris makes it easy to get more control over your security systems when you need to watch them remotely and provides you with the option to combine all of the cameras at your property into a single, interconnected ecosystem. I wish I could select a zone or area to select then show me all the motion on an specific area like when people notice something missing them it should find the motion that made it disappear. I wish it had a merged of all the motion images in a single image to review a days motion in a single image. These bellow are some features I wish it had:

Allow for various ways to send alerts including push notifications with time-lapse for iOS devices Have user management with various levels of permissions Motion detection is very advance allowing to fine tune the size and contrast of detection allows for multiple zones including moving from one zone to another. Pros: - Very flexible and very advance software I have 2x 8GB disks one for each and I get around 2-3 months continuous and more than two years in motion. I personally have the main cameras and a clone of each so in the main cameras I record continuously and on the clones I record only motion. And also do pre-record 5 seconds before and record a minimum of 10 seconds unless there is re-trigger so I can capture more of the motion. The issue of time gaps will always exists if you only record motion that is why I do continuous recording. Some people complain about time gaps but that is because you are only recording motion and sometimes there might be minor motion that it will not capture. Overall Opinion: This is a great piece of software it allows all kind of scenarios.
